The most successful TV shows in 2024 will probably have captivating narratives, likable characters, and original topics that appeal to viewers. They might go into a wide variety of genres, such as compelling documentaries, exciting science fiction stories, and riveting dramas. In addition to excellent performances by gifted actors and actresses, these shows may also have excellent production values that improve the viewing experience.

1. Fallout

Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet are the creators of the American post-apocalyptic drama television series Fallout, which is available on Amazon Prime Video. Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, and Walton Goggins appear in the series, which is based on the role-playing computer game franchise developed by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky.

Fallout debuted on April 10, 2024, on Prime Video. Reviews of the series were largely good. A second season of the show was renewed later that month.

2. Ripley

The Talented Mr. Ripley, a 1955 crime novel by Patricia Highsmith, served as the inspiration for the American neo-noir psychological thriller television series Ripley. The eight-episode limited series, developed, written, and directed by Steven Zaillian, stars Andrew Scott as Tom Ripley, with Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood and Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf. This is the first time that Highsmith’s novel has been adapted for television.

The Netflix original series Ripley was initially scheduled to premiere in February 2023 on Showtime. Critics praised the film’s screenplay, directing, production design, cinematography, score, and performances, especially Scott’s portrayal of Tom Ripley, when it debuted on April 4, 2024.

3. Tokyo Vice

4. X-Men ’97

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team X-Men, X-Men ’97 is an American animated television series produced by Beau DeMayo for the streaming serviceDisney+. This is a return to X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997), which picks up where the team left off after the death of Professor Charles Xavier, and follows the X-Men as they encounter new obstacles. Marvel Studios Animation produces X-Men ’97, with Jake Castorena serving as the show’s supervising director and DeMayo serving as the show’s chief writer for the first two seasons.

On March 20, 2024, the first two episodes of X-Men ’97 debuted. Up until May 15, the remaining ten episodes of the first season will be released every week. A third season is being developed, and a second is now in production.

5. Curb Your Enthusiasm

American television sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, created by Larry David, ran on HBO from October 15, 2000, to April 7, 2024. It chronicles David’s life as a semi-retired television writer and producer in Los Angeles and, for a single season, New York City. David plays a fictionalized version of himself in the show. In addition, Susie Essman plays Jeff’s wife Susie, Cheryl Hines plays his wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin plays his manager and best buddy Jeff Greene, and J. B. Smoove plays Leon Black, Larry’s roommate. It frequently has celebrity guest stars, such Ted Danson, Richard Lewis, Wanda Sykes, Rosie O’Donnell, and Jon Hamm, all of whom are portraying fictitious versions of themselves.

Since its premiere, Curb Your Enthusiasm has gained significant critical praise and increased in popularity. For 10 of its twelve seasons, it has received nominations for 47 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series. The 2002 Golden Globe Award for Best Musical or Comedy Television Series went to it.[3] Up until 2011, it aired for eight seasons that were essentially continuous. In 2017, a ninth season was released. In 2020, the tenth season aired, and in 2021, the eleventh. 6. 3 Body Problem

Based on Liu Cixin’s Hugo Award-winning Chinese novel The Three-Body Problem, David Benioff, D. B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo’s novel, 3 Body Problem is an American science fiction television series. Following the Chinese television series from 2023, this is the second live-action adaption.

On March 21, 2024, the eight-episode Netflix launch of the series debuted to favorable reviews.

7. Sugar

Mark Protosevich is the creator of the eight-part American mystery drama television series Sugar, which is directed by Adam Arkin for three episodes and Fernando Meirelles for five. Colin Farrell, who also acts as executive producer, stars in the series. On April 5, 2024, it debuted on Apple TV+.

8. The Gentlemen

Guy Ritchie is the creator of the action comedy TV show The Gentlemen, which is available on Netflix. It is a spin-off of the same-titled Ritchie movie from 2019. Theo James plays the title character in the television series, which debuted on March 7, 2024.

9. Baby Reindeer

Richard Gadd is the creator and star of the British drama-thriller miniseries Baby Reindeer. Based on Gadd’s true story of being pursued and sexually attacked in his 20s, the series is an adaptation of his autobiographical one-man act of the same name. On April 11, 2024, all seven of the series’ episodes simultaneously debuted on Netflix.

10. The Sympathizer

A historical black comedy drama miniseries, The Sympathizer is based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name. Co-showrunners Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar developed the series, and Park also served as its director. The show, which is produced by A24 and Rhombus Media, had its HBO debut on April 14, 2024.
