1. Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story

Hansal Mehta and Jai Mehta are the co-directors of Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story, an Indian Hindi-language biographical financial thriller that is available for streaming on SonyLIV. The show is based on the 1992 Indian stock market scam that involved numerous stockbrokers, notably Harshad Mehta. It is based on The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away, a 1992 book written by journalist Sucheta Dalal and Debashish Basu. Vaibhav Vishal, Karan Vyas, Saurabh Dey, and Sumit Purohit wrote the dialogue and screenplay.

Pratik Gandhi plays the main character, Harshad Mehta, while Shreya Dhanwanthary plays Sucheta Dalal in a parallel starring role. Additionally playing important roles in the series are Satish Kaushik, Anant Mahadevan, Rajat Kapoor, K K Raina, Lalit Parimoo, Hemant Kher, and Nikhil Dwivedi. The life of Harshad Mehta, his quick ascent, and his eventual fall from grace are the main subjects of the series.

Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story won a leading 11 awards at the 2021 Filmfare OTT Awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Director in a Drama Series (Hansal and Jai), and Best Actor in a Drama Series (Gandhi). The film received a leading 14 nominations, including Best Actress in a Drama Series (Dhanwanthary) and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Anjali Barot).

2. Gullak

Under the aegis of The Viral Fever (TVF), Shreyansh Pandey created the Indian online series Gullak, which translates to “Piggy Bank,” for the streaming service SonyLIV. With Sunita Rajwar as their neighbor, Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Harsh Mayar in the aforementioned key parts, the show centers on the Mishra family, which consists of Santosh and Shanti Mishra and their sons Anand “Annu” and Aman Mishra.

All of the episodes of the first season debuted on the same day, June 27, 2019, on TVF Play, the streaming service for TVF, and Sony Liv. The audience responded favorably to the show.

With a largely fresh cast, the show got revived for a second season. The series was directed by Palash Vaswani, with Simran Hora and Anurag Saikia composing the soundtrack and Durgesh Singh serving as the main writer. Unlike the first season, which debuted on Sony Liv on January 15, 2021, the second season garnered mixed reviews from reviewers. Subsequently, the show received a third season renewal.

On March 22, 2022, the Gullak Season 3 trailer was unveiled. The audience responded favorably to the trailer. The program debuted on SonyLIV on April 7, 2022.

3. Rocket Boys

Inspired on the lives of Homi J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai, Rocket Boys is an Indian Hindi-language biographical streaming television series available on SonyLIV. Under the labels of Roy Kapur Films and Emmay Entertainment, respectively, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani produce the film, which is directed by Abhay Pannu. Along with Regina Cassandra, Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh star in the series.

On February 4, 2022, the web series was made available only on SonyLIV.

On March 16, 2023, Rocket Boys Season 2 was made available only on Sony LIV. On August 15, 2022, the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence Day, the first look for the second season was revealed, and on February 12, 2023, the second teaser was made public. In light of the constant dangers of conflict throughout the world, the second teaser highlights how crucial it was for India to develop nuclear weapons, which led to the country’s first nuclear test, known as Pokhran I, in 1974. The show will follow the extraordinary journey of India’s top scientists as they usher in a new era devoid of any daring challenges to national sovereignty. Jim Sarbh, who plays Dr. Homi J. 4. Undekhi

On July 10, 2020, the Hindi-language web television series Undekhi (also known as Unseen) had its SonyLIV debut. Edgestorm Ventures and Applause Entertainment are the producers. The show portrays the two facets of society: the oppressed, who endure years of agony before deciding to seek justice for themselves, and the powerful, power-hungry individuals who believe they can get away with anything.

The second season of Undekhi premiered on March 4, 2022.

5. College Romance

The Viral Fever and Arunabh Kumar are the creators of the Indian Hindi-language web series College Romance. Keshav Sadhna, Apoorva Arora, Manjot Singh, Gagan Arora, and Shreya Mehta are among its cast members. It centers on the search for love, joy, and some enduring memories between college pals Karan, Naira, and Trippy.

On August 7, 2018, Simarpreet Singh’s College Romance Season 1 debuted concurrently on YouTube and TVF Play, the company’s media streaming platform. The launch was well-received by viewers. After the first season’s popularity, the producers decided to go ahead with a second, which was helmed by Apoorv Singh Karki and debuted on Sony LIV on January 29, 2021.

On September 16, 2022, Parijat Joshi’s third season of the show debuted on Sony LIV. On July 14, 2023, the fourth and final season of the show premiered.

6. Kathmandu Connection

Amit Sial, Aksha Pardasany, and Anshumaan Pushkar play the key parts in Sachin Pathak’s online series Kathmandu Connection, which is in Hindi. Although the events of the 1993 Bombay bombings served as the inspiration for the first season of this show, the second version shows the events of the infamous December 1999 IC 814 hijacking case. On April 23, 2021, Kathmandu Connection made its launch on SonyLIV alone. On December 13, 2022, the second season teaser was posted, and on December 23, 2022, the show had its premiere.

7. JL50

On September 4, 2020, the sci-fi thriller JL50 made its streaming television debut on Sony Liv. The show is in the Hindi language. Starring in the series are Rajesh Sharma, Ritika Anand, Piyush Mishra, Pankaj Kapur, and Abhay Deol.

8. Tabbar

Family, also known as Tabbar, is a thriller streaming television series in Hindi and Punjabi that debuted on October 15, 2021 on SonyLIV. It was written and directed by Ajitpal Singh, produced by Ajay G. Rai, and conceived by Harman Wadala. In the key parts are Supriya Pathak, Ranvir Shorey[3], Pavan Malhotra, Gagan Arora, and Kanwaljit Singh.

Tabbar won eight major awards at the 2022 Filmfare OTT Awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Director in a Drama Series (Singh), Best Actor in a Drama Series (Malhotra), Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Arora), and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Pathak). Tabbar received eleven nominations at the event, including Best Drama Series and Best Director in a Drama Series (Singh).

9. Scam 2003 – The Telgi Story

Scam 2003: The Telgi Story is a 2023 biographical financial thriller that streams on SonyLIV in Hindi. Tushar Hiranandani is the director, while Hansal Mehta is the co-director. The series is based on the true story of Abdul Karim Telgi’s stamped paper counterfeitings in the early 2000s, as told in Sanjay Singh’s book Telgi Scam: Reporter’s ki Diary. It is the second part of the Scam series, which began with Scam 1992.

Gagan Dev Riar plays the lead character, Abdul Karim Telgi, while important roles are played by Mukesh Tiwari, Sana Amin Sheikh, Bharat Jadhav, and Shaad Randhawa. The first five episodes of the show debuted on SonyLIV on September 1, 2023, while the final five debuted on November 5, 2023.

10. Avrodh – The Siege Within

On July 31, 2020, Avrodh: The Siege Within, a military drama in Hindi, had its streaming television debut on SonyLIV. The series is a retelling of the 2016 Uri incident and the subsequent surgical strikes, and it is directed by Raj Acharya and produced by Applause Entertainment, Irada Entertainment, and Mehra Entertainment. It is based on a chapter from Rahul Singh and Shiv Aroor’s book India’s Most Fearless. Avrodh: The Siege Within 2, a stand-alone sequel, was made available in June 2022.
