1. Jawan
Atlee, making his Hindi feature debut, co-wrote and directed the action thriller Jawan (/dʒʌwɑːn/, which translates to “Soldier“) in 2023. Under Red Chillies Entertainment, Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma are the producers. Shah Rukh Khan plays a father and a son in the movie who work together to fight social corruption. In supporting parts are Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (who is listed as making a special appearance), Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
2. Ghajini
Ghajini, pronounced [ɡədʒniː], is a 2008 action thriller film in Indian Hindi that marks A. R. Murugadoss’s feature film debut in the language. Pradeep Rawat plays the title antagonist, and the film stars Aamir Khan, Jiah Khan, and Asin (reviving her part from the original Hindi film). It is a reimagining of the same-titled Tamil film directed by Murugadoss. After a severe attack, Sanjay Singhania (Khan) in the movie develops anterograde amnesia and decides to exact revenge.
3. Don
Farhan Akhtar is the director of the 2006 Indian Hindi-language action movie Don: The Chase Begins Again, or just Don. Excel Entertainment, Ritesh Sidhwani and Akhtar’s production business, produced the movie. Shah Rukh Khan plays the title anti-hero in the movie, while Priyanka Chopra plays Roma. In contrast, supporting parts are played by Arjun Rampal, Isha Koppikar, Boman Irani, Pavan Malhotra, Rajesh Khattar, and Om Puri. A special appearance is made by Kareena Kapoor. The 1978 movie Don is being remade, and it centers on the lookalike of the main criminal, who has been dispatched on a covert mission to collect information on the drug mafia and impersonate Don after he gets hurt during a chase.
4. Singham
Based on a screenplay by Yunus Sajawal and Farhad-Sajid, Singham is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment. It is the first chapter in the Shetty’s Cop Universe series. The movie, which is a remake of Hari’s 2010 Tamil film of the same name, stars Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham, a police officer, opposite Prakash Raj, who plays the same role as in the original, and Kajal Aggarwal.
5. Holiday
A. R. Murugadoss is the writer and director of the 2014 Indian Hindi-language action movie Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, which stars Akshay Kumar as an army officer. Sonakshi Sinha, Govinda, Freddy Daruwala, and Sumeet Raghavan also make guest appearances. This official version of Murugadoss’s 2012 Tamil film Thuppakki centers on an Indian Army officer on vacation in Mumbai who sets out to track down and deactivate the terrorist head of a network of sleeper cells that he controls.
6. Fast & Furious
The American media franchise Fast & Furious, commonly referred to as The Fast and the Furious, is built around a sequence of action movies that mostly deal with street racing, heists, spies, and family. In addition, the brand features live performances, toys, video games, short films, a TV show, and theme park attractions. Universal Pictures handles the distribution of the movies.
First published in 2001, the film was written by Gary Scott Thompson, Erik Bergquist, and David Ayer and based on the Ken Li story “Racer X” from Vibe magazine in 1998. It started the first tetralogy of street racing movies, which ended with the 2009 movie Fast & Furious. With the publication of Fast Five (2011), the series shifted its focus to heists and spying. Five more installments in that genre followed, the most recent of which, Fast X, was released on May 19, 2023.
7. Avengers: Endgame
The 2019 American superhero movie Avengers: Endgame is based on the Avengers superhero team from Marvel Comics. It is the 22nd movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the direct sequel to Avengers: Infinity War (2018), which was produced by Marvel Studios and released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. With an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin, the film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. In the movie, the Avengers’ remaining members and their allies try to undo what Thanos did in Infinity War.
8. Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Christopher McQuarrie is the writer and director of the 2018 American action spy movie Mission: Impossible – Fallout. It is the sixth movie in the Mission: Impossible film series and the follow-up to Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015). Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby, Michelle Monaghan, and Alec Baldwin make up the ensemble cast. Fallout, which takes place two years after the events of Rogue Nation, centers on Impossible Missions Force agent Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his group as they work to stop terrorist Solomon Lane and his enigmatic zealot John Lark from launching a nuclear strike.
9. John Wick
The 2014 American action thriller film John Wick was written and directed by Derek Kolstad and Chad Stahelski. Starring as John Wick, Keanu Reeves is a famed hitman who, when his wife passes away, decides to take revenge on the criminals who killed his puppy as a parting gift. Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, and Willem Dafoe are among the other actors who appear in the movie.
10. Rambo
The American media franchise Rambo is based on a string of action movies starring John J. Rambo. Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), Rambo III (1988), First Blood (1982), Rambo (2008), and Rambo: Last Blood (2019) are the five movies. Sylvester Stallone portrays Rambo, a former member of the US Army Special Forces who was traumatized by the Vietnam War but gained exceptional military talents that he has utilized to battle corrupt police officers, enemy soldiers, and drug cartels. First Blood is a 1972 novel by David Morrell that has been adapted.
